Christo Buizert ... winner of the PhD SLAM competition

Christo Buizert won the PhD SLAM competition by turning his presentation into a poetry slam

Christo Buizert from Centre for Ice and Climate won the PhD SLAM competition on Friday, May 27, 2011, by turning the competition into a poetry slam and presenting his scientific work in three minutes as a rap. The tough competition between 17 PhD students from both Copenhagen University and DTU took place at the Nano-Science Centre and with judges from different fields of nano-science.

The presentation of the scientific work in three minutes was reviewed according to the criteria as clarity of presentation, presentation art, timing & balance, scientific content, complexity of subject, inventive step, impact/results and background coverage...

Christo’s rap not only lived up to the criteria for winning the price, but also anticipated part of the workshop program that is offered to all the participants of the event, which is to “Capture your audience within 90 seconds and never let them go...”

Christo Buizert from Centre for Ice and Climate walked out with a gift certificate to Polyteknisk Boghandel.

A video of the rap will soon be available
In the very near future a video will be shoot – so you better keep an eye on the Centre for Ice and Climate website for not missing this event!
