Erik Warming presenting his prize winning poster at the IPY2012 in Montreal, Canada

Erik Warming, Master student at Centre for Ice and Climate, won the poster prize for his presentation at the IPY2012 conference in Montreal, Canada, on 21st-27nd of April 2012.

He won the poster award in the category “New frontiers, technologies and data practices in polar research”.

“I have seen a lot of posters and with the backing of my thesis advisors I made a very different poster. I wanted to have an elevator pitch in the form of a small cartoon in the center, just to catch the eye. Then I wanted to step-by-step explain the elements of the ice formation & drilling, the CFA analysis system and the hazard that the drill liquid present to it, to make sense of the work I have been doing,” explains Erik Warming.
